The New 2023 Toyota Tundra

The New 2023 Toyota Tundra

Truck fans were ecstatic when the Toyota Tundra underwent some much-needed changes in 2022. After 14 consecutive years of offering the same full-size model, with a few minor tweaks here and there, the 2022 Toyota Tundra finally saw a redesign and, because of that, an uptick in interest.

It wasn't long before consumers looked forward to the new 2023 Toyota Tundra, wondering if it would evolve again. Toyota kept 2023 the same, other than a few interior and exterior upgrades for certain trims and packages.

Impressive Performance

The new 2023 Toyota Tundra offers the high-performance level that Tundra drivers expect. Though the 2023 Tundra is the only full-size truck model available without a V-8 engine, it provides twin-turbo V-6s with a ten-speed automatic transmission.

The base SR trim of the 2023 Tundra, the non-hybrid engine boasts 348 horsepower and 405 lb of torque. The hybrid engine has an electric motor seamlessly integrated into the transmission, allowing the 2023 Tundra to go completely electric at low speeds. The combination in the hybrid engine generates a horsepower of 437 and 583 lb torque.

There's no question that the new Tundra performs impressively, and drivers can easily take it off-road, especially with the TRD Pro or TRD Sport packages.

The 2023 Toyota Tundra Towing Capacity

If you're looking to get yourself into a new 2023 Toyota Tundra, then there's a big possibility that you've got something to tow. The Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds with a maximum payload capacity of around 1,940.

The 2023 Toyota Tundra Interior

While the exterior of the new Tundra is undeniably eye-catching, the interior has a driver-friendly dashboard and center console that appears much nicer than previous models of the Toyota Tundra, which likely means there were a few upgrades in materials. You'll find that the interior quality will increase with trim levels and those at the top of the line sport beautiful (but rugged) wood accents.

The center console on every model is incredibly versatile, with plenty of storage room and a massive center bin to store whatever you need during your travels. Overall, the interior of the new Tundra is familiar but modern and comfortable enough to handle any distance.

The 2023 Toyota Tundra MPG

The 2023 Tundra gets the sort of mileage you might expect from a truck this size. Drivers will see up to 18 miles per gallon in the city and around 24 on the highway. Of course, this mileage is subject to change if you're hauling and the load size, but it's an improvement from past models .

The 2023 Toyota Tundra Connectivity Upgrades

It's challenging to find a new full-size truck today that doesn't come with a fantastic infotainment and connectivity system, and the new Toyota Tundra is no exception to that rule. The standard size for the infotainment screen in the new Toyota Tundra is 8 inches, but drivers can upgrade to a whopping 14-inch touchscreen display.

Though the entire setup is a touchscreen, it features a convenient (and valuable) volume knob. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come with every model. Drivers should know that the controls on the steering wheel have limited functionality, and they don't control too much of the infotainment system, so you'll have to utilize the touchscreen most of the time.

Toyota offers all Tundra owners a subscription-based WiFi hotspot to amp up connectivity levels and put you in touch with friends and family whenever necessary.

The All New 2023 Toyota Tundra Trim Levels

The 2023 Toyota Tundra comes in eight available trims.

The New 2023 Toyota Tundra SR

The new Toyota Tundra SR boasts similar qualities to the models higher in the lineup. The SR is perfect for whatever you want it to do, from family road trips to long work days. The Toyota Tundra SR is straightforward with cozy fabric heated seats and the standard eight-inch touchscreen but doesn't skimp on driver or passenger comfort.

Standout Features

Comfort: The interior of the 2023 Tundra cab focuses heavily on comfort, with heated, ventilated fabric seats.

Connectivity: A paid subscription will get you the best connection on the road, including Cloud Navigation, Destination Assist, and Intelligent Assistant.

The New Toyota Tundra SR5

The Toyota Tundra SR5 is a bit of an upgrade comfort-wise, including a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel to match the heated seats from the SR. The SR5 features TRD off-road shock absorbers, so your Tundra SR5 can take you where you want to go. LED fog lights cut through the thickest fog conditions.

Standout Features

Off-Road Ready: You don't have to travel too far up the spec line to find an off-road ready Tundra, as the SR5 has shock absorbers and hill assistance control up and downhill.

Safety Features: The SR5 is rich with safety features, including Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, a blind spot monitor, and an intuitive parking assist.

The New Toyota Tundra TRD Off-Road

If you thought the SR5 was ready to take you off the beaten path, the TRD off-road is raring to go. Crawl mode is available in the SR5 and the TRD, but you'll only find Multi-Terrain Mode Select in the TRD model. Plenty of USB charging ports adorn the TRD, and available wireless charging, so you can stay connected while roughing it.

Standout Features

Rugged Capabilities: The TRD was meant to go off-road, and with features like Multi-Terrain Select and TRD off-road shock absorbers, the TRD model can take you almost anywhere.

Towing: If you're headed out with a trailer or camper, the TRD has a heavy-duty trailer hitch and a trailer brake controller to keep you safe while you haul.

The New Toyota Tundra TRD Sport

The TRD Sport has all of the features from the SR, SR5, and TRD Off-Road, and it boasts shock absorbers specific to the TRD Sport model. 18-inch off-road alloy wheels will assist your TRD Sport in taking you to the middle of nowhere, and power-adjustable heated side mirrors keep you on track.

Standout Features

Off-Road Perfection: There's no denying that the TRD Sport can handle a wide variety of road (and off-road conditions), and the model-specific shock absorbers keep you and your vehicle safe.

Noise Control: Off-roading can get rough, but Active Noise Control in the cabin of your TRD Sport will keep it peaceful, whether you're climbing a mountain road or navigating city streets.

The New Toyota Tundra Limited

The 2023 Toyota Tundra Limited combines most of the features from the SR model and kicks them up a notch with amazing infotainment and convenience features. The Limited works well for those who lead busy personal or professional lives. This truck makes your commute more enjoyable with a Remote Connect three-year trial and the full Toyota Assistant panel.

Standout Features

Free Trials: The Limited model comes with free three-year trials of Remote Connect and Safety Connect, unlocking connectivity, and safety features that are otherwise unavailable without a paid subscription.

Tailgate Release: The Limited allows you to let your tailgate down with the push of a button on the driver's side, making unloading your haul easier.

The New Toyota Tundra Limited Off-Road

The Toyota Tundra Limited Off-Road takes interior luxury up a level with beautiful mixed Softex leather seats. This beautiful truck contains most of the features from the SR and Limited combined, but it's the only model to include Multi-Terrain Mode Select. With a locking rear differential and a multi-terrain view monitor, this truck is beyond ready to go off-roading. Original wood trim with chrome accents helps the interior pop.

Standout Features

Rugged Luxury: Toyota has outdone itself with how ruggedly luxurious the Limited truck is. The gorgeous and comfortable interior contrasts perfectly with Multi-Terrain Mode so that you can ditch the pavement in style.

Eye-Catching Interior: The interior of the Limited definitely stands apart from the rest, primarily regarding the Softex leather seating and the chrome and wood accents within the cab.

The New Toyota Tundra Platinum

The Toyota Tundra Platinum offers drivers all the comforts of the SR, Limited, and TRD Off-Road features. Still, it adds heated, ventilated leather seating, a 14-inch touchscreen, and a full TFT digital gauge cluster. There's no question that the interior of this vehicle is advanced, but power-extendable towing mirrors remind us of its power.

Standout Features

Touchscreen Size: Since the standard touchscreen size for a full-size truck is 12 inches, the Platinum blows the competition out of the water with its 14-inch infotainment screen.

Digital Dashboard: The digital gauges on the Platinum model are easy to see and read and add significant convenience to the driver's life.

The New Toyota Tundra 1794

The 1794 is as fancy as they come, with 20-inch alloy wheels, a 14-inch touchscreen display, and genuine, buttery leather seats. The 1794 takes the best of the SR, Limited, TRD Off-Road, and Platinum Models and throws natural wood and chrome interior accents on top.

Standout Features

Stunning Exterior: The 20-inch alloys are impressive, but they're no match for the active front spoiler and panoramic moon roof that make this truck so much fun to look at and drive.

Genuine Leather: You can beat the feel of genuine leather seating, and drivers who purchase the 1794 will be unable to switch back to fabric after just one drive.
